In a significant step towards strengthening India’s cultural diplomacy, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Museum of Sacred Art (MOSA), Belgium, aimed at promoting Indian art and culture across Europe and beyond.

The MoU was formally signed by the Director General of ICCR, Mrs. K. Nandini Singla, and Mr. Martin Gurvich, Founder and Director of MOSA. The agreement seeks to facilitate the organisation of Indian art exhibitions in major European cities during the initial phase, drawing from MOSA’s extensive collection comprising over 1,500 artworks by nearly 200 artists.

Under this collaboration, a series of curated exhibitions will highlight India’s rich artistic heritage, spiritual traditions, and contemporary artistic expressions. These exhibitions will be organised in close coordination with Indian Embassies, Consulates, and Indian Cultural Centres abroad, ensuring wider outreach and cultural engagement.

As per the terms of the MoU, a minimum of five exhibitions annually will be held across seven European countries—Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain—during the period 2026 to 2028. The initiative is expected to enhance cultural exchange, foster dialogue between Indian and European artists, and deepen appreciation of India’s diverse artistic traditions among international audiences.

This partnership reflects ICCR’s continued commitment to showcasing India’s soft power through art and culture on the global stage.
