Amrapalians won at Assam State level dance competition

In a recently held prize distribution ceremony of the All Assam competition of the Rang - Sur - Taal: Assam Sanskritik Porbo, an initiative of Rabi Ragini - Tagore’s Ideal Music Academy, students namely Saipriya Nandi Purkayastha and Charvi B. Kashyap of the Amrapali Institute of Arts, Guwahati under the able guidance of celebrated and internationally toured Kathak dance couple of Assam Guru Rudra Jayanta Bhagawati and Smt. Pranaame Bhagawati secured 2nd prize in Group B and 1st prize in Group A respectively.
They with their profound artistic abilities marked a memorable and cohesive attraction amidst the audiences. Their determination as young classical dance practitioners and earning laurels whilst undergoing strict learning and training is a result they achieved through their Gurus’ years long penance. It is to mention that, Saipriya Nandi Purkayastha is also the recipient of the CCRT Scholarship 2025 availed under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India.

The Rang - Sur - Taal is a State level art, dance and vocal competition organised across Assam to commemorate the birth centenary of Ganashilpi Lt. Dilip Sarma, a revered cultural icon of Assam.
