The Kathak Sandhya | Northeast Kathak Festival is an effort to bring forth the beautiful and aesthetic performance recitals and choreographies of the Kathak dance art. Northeast has been a living example for embracing this aesthetically beautiful classical dance. Many dancers and choreographers have established their prominence at the global level. It has always been a particular legacy or a Gharana who have reached out to this region. This celebration of the grace, rhythm and expressive brilliance of Kathak brings together the diverse voices of the Kathak fraternity in Northeast India.
The prime focus of this effort is to bring all the different Gharanas of Kathak dance onto a single platform for the learners, young talents, Gurus and the connoisseurs. So that each of their histories, great legends, compositions could be a learning experience for all witnessing it. Knowledge empowers the vision and execution of an individual and Kathak dance could never be confined within a definite limitation of performance or a Guru legacy or a Gharana. It has surpassed the unexpected from the time of its inception and transformations over time and is still paving its way into globalization with its expansive and flexible notes.
The Kathak Sandhya | Northeast Kathak Festival will BE enriched with solo and group choreographies, recitals by senior artistes and exponents, visual documentaries, online/virtual participation and lot more!
We heartily invite everyone to be part of this mesmerizing evening.
